This wine is made from Cabernet Franc and Carmenere grapes, which until recently were confused in the Friulian vineyards. We have determined that the older vineyards intended for the production of this wine actually consist of Carmenere, while only the newer plantings are of Cabernet Franc. Consequently, the label contains only the term Cabernet, which summarizes the two varieties and is permitted by the DOC regulations in this case. It is an herbaceous wine without powerful tannins; it is aged on the lees for a year in large barrels to soften the rough edges of its impetuous nature.
