The Organic Visciolata from Podere Casella Muzighin is truly extraordinary! Also known as Visciole in the Sun, the visciolata is prepared using visciole in the simplest and most natural form. The visciole are a variety of wild sour cherry and a very ancient one that has been growing spontaneously in the area since antiquity and is characterized by an intense flavor, not too sweet, with an intriguing almond aftertaste that creates a nice fresh and tangy sensation. In this traditional preparation, whole ripe fruits (with the pits still in) that are healthier and larger are jarred with granulated sugar added to fill all the free spaces. The jar is hermetically sealed with a screw cap and then placed in a sunny spot for 30-40 days until the sugar is completely dissolved. The fruit thus becomes syrupy but does not ferment and can therefore be consumed even by children. Try them: they are delicious!
