Calicanto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane Igt wine Package: 6 Bottles of 0.75 lt One winter day, a robin, tired and chilled by the frost, was looking for a solid branch that would allow him to rest for a few hours sheltered under the last yellowed leaves not yet ripped off by the wind, before resuming his flight towards milder climates, but all the trees refused to host him. The Calicanto, moved by pity, welcomed him under the last leaves to warm him. Hence the name Calicanto for our Calicanto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane Igt Zibibbo (100%). Close your eyes for a moment and let yourself be caressed by the wind and warmed by the sun, breathe in the air that surrounds you, full of scents: that of the sea, of Mediterranean vegetation, of the earth. You cannot be mistaken… You are in Marsala, the “land of wine” where Calicanto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane Igt wine originates. No other Italian city can boast such a varied wine production. With shrewdness and foresight, the English who landed there in the ‘700 quickly realized that from the local grapes something very similar to Spanish and Portuguese fortified wines could be obtained: that wine which later became famous worldwide under the name “Marsala”. In this land so rich in vines, in 1997 our three families of winemakers decided to take over the brand “Cantine Vinci”, producer of our Calicanto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane Igt, and thus began a new adventure that has seen them as architects of the transformation of their grapes into wines of consistent and undisputed quality. Going from simple growers to winemakers was not easy, but the experience passed down from father to son for several generations helped us understand which clusters to choose for the best quality wine like our Calicanto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane Igt, when were the best times for harvesting the grapes, and which soils could best enhance the physiological and productive properties of the different cultivars. Producing precious grapes has thus become the cornerstone from which to start producing wines of excellent quality. Over time, the wisdom, the will to learn, and the goal of producing great wines like the Calicanto Zibibbo Terre Siciliane Igt have been recognized and rewarded. Thus today, Cantine Vinci can boast important recognitions obtained for the production of wines that, once tasted, are hard to forget.
