First harvest from this vineyard of Casanova di Neri: located in the southeast area, one of the most renowned in the Montalcinese territory. It was purchased in 2017 for its magnificent exposure and its very old vines, almost 50 years old. In appearance, it presents a bright red color. On the nose, it is a symphony of young red fruits: blueberries, cherries, and plums; after a while in the glass, blood orange appears. On the palate, the tannins are very fine, creamy, and expansive. The acidity of the 2018 vintage perfectly balances the generosity and structure of this wine. The finish is deep and persistent, a sign of a great future. The 2018 vintage was characterized by a very cold winter, whose low temperatures led to a delay in budding of about a week compared to the average of previous years. Spring was marked by abundant rainfall. The flowering took place in the last week of May. The summer, initially cool, continued with higher temperatures in June and July but never reached excessive peaks. The strong temperature fluctuations between day and night in the days leading up to the harvest favored a slow and steady maturation of the grapes.
