Obtained exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, it comes from vineyards with an average age of 25 years located at various altitudes (200, 300, and 400 meters above sea level) and exposures. The soil, predominantly consisting of clay and limestone, is characterized by low fertility and stoniness. The production area is in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, overlooking the Orcia river valley in the southeast part of Montalcino. The harvest is carried out manually with a scrupulous selection of grapes to ensure low yields. The winemaking takes place in wooden vats with spontaneous fermentation and prolonged macerations, followed by pump-overs. After aging in 30 hl oak barrels for 30 months, the wine was bottled on November 23, 2021.
