
The Black Label Colli della Toscana Centrale IGT 2017 from the I Balzini winery is a red wine with unforgettable aromas that evoke emotion, also excellent at the end of a meal. Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Vineyard: pleiocene soil, sedimentary formation characterized by the presence of alternate yellow sands and clays. Notable presence of marine fossils. Cultivation system: Soil processing alternated with greening and pruning of the vine to spur cordon. Thinning of clusters during growth and final selection at harvest; at harvest, the clusters are picked by hand, placed in small boxes, and further selected on the conveyor belt. Winemaking: Maceration in temperature-controlled steel tanks at 26 – 28°C for about 2 weeks. Malolactic completed. Aging: In French oak barriques of medium toasting, 50% new for about 12 months, followed by bottle aging for at least 18 months. Year: 2017. Alcohol Percentage: 14% vol.
