Each portion of the Sheng Organic Puer Tea (raw) Wu Liang Origin is 4g, the perfect amount for a single infusion. The darker leaves pressed into this small brick are brightened by buds covered in golden fluff. The tea is sweet, with a delicate aroma that immediately brings to mind a walk in a spruce forest. This organic tea comes from the village of Zhengwan, in the famous autonomous province of Puer. Tasting - Sight and Smell The small squares of Sheng Organic Puer Tea Wu Liang Origin consist of compressed leaves, with varied colors ranging from dark green, forest green, and military green to light brown and khaki, with a high presence of golden buds. Once infused, the leaves release aromas of pear nectar, incense, resin, green wood, and a very faint hint of leather. In the cup, the liquor is a deep golden yellow. Tasting Notes GONG FU CHA The first infusion of the Sheng Organic Puer Tea Wu Liang Origin gives a delicate liquor yet with a very defined organoleptic profile: notes of beeswax and unripe pear, followed by resin and finally a woody hint of bark. With the second infusion, the fruitiness of the pear becomes more intense, while a vaguely herbaceous green note and a slight astringency appear. There are balsamic notes of pine needles that give the tea a very pleasant freshness, followed by a hint of incense. With the third infusion and the following ones, we again find opening notes of bark wood, on a fruity base of pear that remains present, and a long balsamic and fresh persistence that recalls the scents of a coniferous forest. TO THE WESTERNER The Sheng Organic Puer Tea Wu Liang Origin has an opening sweet taste of pear and notes of pine resin, followed by fresh vegetable hints of artichoke. Next, a balsamic note of eucalyptus and an incense note come to the palate, along with a spicy hint of cardamom. In the finish, an unexpected floral note is detected, while the persistence remains fresh and sweetly fruity. The body is silky and soft, with just a slight astringency. Smelling the bottom of the cup, one can catch the scent of incense and beeswax. Place of Origin Zhengwan – Puer, China Preparation We strongly recommend infusing the Sheng Organic Puer Tea Wu Liang Origin using the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to best enjoy these leaves. Following this preparation, you can place a square in a gaiwan of about 100 ml to obtain more infusions with different flavors. After a brief preliminary rinse at 100°C to start separating the leaves from their compressed form, you can proceed to a first infusion of 10 seconds, and then, keeping the water at the same temperature, you can proceed to increase each time the time by 5 seconds compared to the previous infusion (10 – 15 – 20…). This tea has a longevity of about 7 infusions. For a classic preparation in the Western style, we recommend one square in a cup of 200 ml with water at 100°C for an infusion time of two minutes. It would still be preferable to do a preliminary rinse of about 15 seconds to make the most of the flavors of the leaves. The tea can be filtered for easier tasting, and the infusion times mentioned above are purely indicative, so you can adjust according to your personal taste. It is recommended to store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Contents The box contains 6 packs of Sheng Organic Puer Tea Wu Liang Origin with 5 portions each, for a total of 30 portions.
