
The Sheng Puer Xi Gui Gold Leaf brick was produced in 2019 in Lincang (a prefecture in the southwest of Yunnan) with Puer tea leaves harvested in the Xi Gui area and left to ferment. It has a rich Sheng Puer tea flavor. The sweet and fragrant taste lingers even after multiple infusions. Place of origin: Lincang, Yunnan, China. Preparation: We highly recommend infusing this tea using the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to fully enjoy these leaves. Following this preparation, you can use 5 grams of leaves (about 4 teaspoons) in a gaiwan of about 85 ml to achieve multiple infusions with different flavors. After a quick rinse of the leaves in water at 90°C, you can proceed to the first infusion for 20 seconds and then, keeping the water at the same temperature, increase the time by 5 seconds for each subsequent infusion (20 – 25 – 30 …). This tea has a longevity of about 8 infusions. For a classic preparation according to the western style, we recommend 3 grams of leaves (about 2 teaspoons) in a 150 ml cup with water at 90°C for an infusion time of one and a half minutes. The tea can be filtered for easier tasting. The above infusion times are meant to be purely indicative, so adjustments can be made based on personal taste.
