Each portion of the Shu Organic Puer Tea (cooked) Wu Liang Origin is 4g, the perfect quantity for a single infusion. Its aromas remind us of an autumn forest, the damp earth after the rain, and the undergrowth, while the taste surprises with its sweetness and a velvety smoothness on the palate. This organic tea comes from the village of Zhengwan, in the famous autonomous province of Puer. The organic puer tea shu Wu Liang Origin is presented in small, thin single-serving squares, made from compressed leaves with color tones ranging from dark brown to chestnut, and a high presence of gold-rust buds. Once infused in water, the square softens quite quickly, allowing the leaves to dance freely in the water. The aromas are complex and enveloping: notes of leather, a hint of smokiness, scents of damp earth, wet leaves, and wood, with a memory of fennel and a balsamic note at the end. In the cup, the liquor is a dark brown leaning towards coffee, quite impenetrable to light and with a slight orange reflection. The first infusion of shu organic puer tea Wu Liang Origin surprises with its sweetness and offers hints of wood, leather, and a peaty note reminiscent of whiskey. The finish has a note of bitter cocoa with a fruity nuance, while the aftertaste has the flavors of licorice and coffee. With the second infusion, the body of the tea becomes denser and more enveloping: notes of coffee without bitterness and an earthy sweetness reminiscent of potato peel. There is also a hint of aromatic tobacco with a vanilla note at the end. The third infusion and numerous subsequent infusions reveal the incredible softness that this tea offers to the palate. The leather note already present in the first infusion becomes predominant here, along with a very persistent vanilla sweetness. In the end, the scents of undergrowth blend with notes of bitter cocoa. The shu organic puer tea Wu Liang Origin opens with forest notes: bark and humus can be recognized, while a note of fennel appears in the second instance, followed by scents of licorice wood and coffee. The woody note then evolves into barrel wood, and notes emerge that almost resemble a lightly peaty whiskey. The finish has delicate notes of leather and an elusive note of dark chocolate. The body is very soft and enveloping, medium density and without traces of bitterness or astringency. Place of origin: Zhengwan – Puer, China. We recommend infusing the shu organic puer tea Wu Liang Origin using the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to best enjoy these leaves. Following this preparation, one can place a square in a gaiwan of about 100 ml to obtain more infusions with different tastes. After a brief preliminary rinse at 100°C to start well separating the leaves from their compressed shape, one can proceed to a first infusion of 10 seconds and, thereafter, keeping the water at the same temperature, one can proceed by increasing each time the time by 5 seconds compared to the previous infusion (10 – 15 – 20…). This tea has a longevity of about 7 infusions. For a classic preparation according to Western style, we recommend a square in a 200 ml cup with water at 100°C for an infusion time of two minutes. It would be preferable to still do a preliminary rinse of about 15 seconds to maximize the flavors of the leaves. The tea can be filtered for greater ease during tasting and the stated infusion times are meant to be purely indicative, so adjustments can be made based on personal taste. It is recommended to store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. The box of shu organic puer tea Wu Liang Origin contains 6 small boxes of 5 portions each, for a total of 30 portions.
