The small flowers of Yunnan Golden Edge Rose are a beautiful pink color, protected within a shell of yellow-green leaves; for this reason, the buds are called "Golden Edge Rose". This infusion consists solely of real rose buds. It has a completely natural floral taste and aroma that makes it a delicious beverage perfect for those who love the flavor of rose. The small buds of Yunnan Golden Edge Rose are enclosed in a shell of yellow-green leaves with a leathery texture, suitable for protecting the tenderness of the flowers. The bud has bright pink petals tending toward fuchsia and already at the nose the floral notes of rose are clearly perceivable. The floral scent exponentially increases when the buds are infused in hot water, making the petals softer and more fragile and dispersing their rose fragrance beyond the boundaries of the teapot. In the cup, the liquor appears a very light yellow, almost transparent, with pinkish reflections. At the first sip, Yunnan Golden Edge Rose reveals all its sweetness and distinctly floral character. The rose flavor is the absolute protagonist, particularly reminiscent of the damask variety; accompanied by a note of acacia honey and a very slight hint of green wood and bamboo. The body is light and silky, lacking astringency. On the palate, the persistence is fresh, long, and floral: an infusion that seems to celebrate the beauty of a late spring. The roses come from Yunnan, China. These roses are naturally irrigated by the snow that melts from Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang, Yunnan province. The delicate exotic roses that make up this infusion are hand-picked when they are still young buds and then left to dry. It is recommended to prepare Yunnan Golden Edge Rose using the traditional Chinese method (Gong Fu Cha) with a gaiwan using boiling water at 95°C. The flower-to-water ratio is 5g for 150 ml with an infusion time of 20 seconds. Keeping the water at the same temperature, it is possible to continue to use the same leaves by adding more water and increasing the infusion time by 10 seconds each time. For a classic preparation according to Western style, 7 grams of flowers (about 3 teaspoons) are recommended in 500 ml of water at 85°C for an infusion time of 3-8 minutes depending on personal taste. The infusion can be strained for easier tasting and the infusion times indicated here are purely indicative, so adjustments can also be made based on personal preference. It is recommended during tasting to try to let the liquor rest in the cup for about a minute before drinking it, in order to better sense its sweetness.
