Musakhan is a traditional Palestinian dish made of chicken, onions and spices, served on a bed of toasted bread. It is said to originate from the city of Jerusalem and to have been eaten by its inhabitants since ancient times. Its preparation requires a bit of time, but the final result is a delicious dish rich in exotic flavors.
Clean the chicken and cut it into 4-6 pieces
Chop one onion into small pieces
Sauté the onion in a pot with a drizzle of oil
Add the chicken, salt, pepper and all the spices
Cover with water and cook until the meat becomes tender
Cut four onions into medium pieces
Fry them until they turn golden
When the chicken is cooked, drain it from the cooking water and place it in a baking dish, adding a sliced onion
Warm it in the oven
Meanwhile prepare the bread on which you will place the chicken ready to be served
Slice the bread and rub it with the fried onions
Then place the chicken on top and serve
