Struffoli is a sweet typical of the Italian Christmas tradition, especially widespread in the south of the country. It is made by kneading flour, eggs, butter, sugar and a splash of anise, then cooking the small pieces of dough in hot oil and glazing them with honey and lemon zest. Struffoli are little sweets that are crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect to enjoy during the holidays.
Arrange the flour in a mound and work it with the eggs, butter, 100 g of sugar, anise, lemon zest and baking soda
Knead carefully and make sticks from it, cut them into small pieces and fry them in hot oil
Dissolve 5 tablespoons of sugar over the heat, add the honey, the struffoli and mix for 10 minutes
Arrange them on a plate and garnish with candied fruit
